Μια Ελληνίδα στη Νέα Υόρκη
«Αθόρυβη και συστηματική, μοιράζοντας τη ζωή της ανάμεσα στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, η Νάντια Φώσκολου ανήκει στη νεότερη γενιά Ελλήνων σκηνοθετών, με γερή παιδεία και εξίσου ισχυρό όραμα για ένα σύγχρονο θέατρο ανήσυχο και δυναμικό – ίσως τη θυμόσαστε από την ροκ παράστασή της για εφήβους «Ρωμαίος και Ιουλιέτα (teen spirit)» που παιζόταν για δύο συνεχόμενες σεζόν στο θέατρο Χώρα. Σε δική της σκηνοθεσία θα ανέβει αυτές τις μέρες (14-22/8), στο πλαίσιο του Διεθνούς Fringe Festival της Νέας Υόρκης και σε ένα από τα θέατρα του Μανχάταν, το σύγχρονο έργο «Peninsula» του βραβευμένου δραματουργού Nathan Wright. Θέμα του, η πορεία ενός νεαρού μετανάστη από τις παραγκουπόλεις του Ρίο Ντε Τζανέιρο σε ένα φαινομενικά φιλήσυχο θέρετρο του Μίτσιγκαν. Η Φώσκολου σκηνοθέτησε πριν έναν χρόνο μια παράσταση-workshop του ίδιου έργου στο Manhattan Repertory Theatre της Νέας Υόρκης και φέτος το έργο έγινε δεκτό για επίσημη παρουσίαση στο 17ο Fringe NYC International Festival -μάλιστα, το έγκυρο διαδικτυακό θεατρικό περιοδικό BACKSTAGE ξεχώρισε ήδη την παράσταση και την κατατάσσει ανάμεσα στις 7 πιο πολυαναμενόμενες από τις συνολικά 200 που θα παιχτούν στο πλαίσιο του φεστιβάλ!»
